AN EVENING WITH MELANIE AND FRIENDS
Were you at Woodstock? It seems like everyone of a certain age recalls being at Yasgur's Farm that August of '69... or at least that's how they would like to remember it. Relive the summer of love- 46 years later- when MELANIE comes to Danbury's historic Palace Theatre.
Join us for an unforgettable night of songs & stories with folk legend MELANIE, the artist who became known as “The Female Bob Dylan." Accompanied by her son Beau-Jarred, a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist in his own right, the show is a musical journey of a career spanning over four decades, from that momentous night at Woodstock to the present.
Melanie became the voice of an era in one magical instant at Woodstock!
Melanie has recorded over thirty albums and been covered by a variety of artists, including Miley Cyrus, Mott The Hoople, Cher, Nina Simone and Björk. She is poised to enlighten new generations about what it means to sing with passion and eloquence, write with intelligence and emotion, and to inspire through song.
Sharing the stage with Melanie will be EVA, an international female folk group with roots in the USA, Ireland, & Australia. EVA features Kath Buckell, Nicole Zuraitis and Liz Simmons performing traditional and contemporary music with stunning three-part harmonies. “
