“New York had Bob Dylan, but we had Tom Rush. Like a lot of people who do what I do, I owe my career to him. He's a real national treasure" ~James Taylor
His early recordings introduced the world to the work of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and James Taylor. Subsequently, his Club 47 concerts brought attention to emerging artists such as Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin.
Now celebrating over 50 years as a touring singer/songwriter, Tom continues to break new ground. His most recent CD release was awarded top Folk Album of the Year by the International Folk Alliance. His Youtube clip of “Remember Song” has become an internet sensation with over six million hits to date!
Opening the show will be Sherman's own Don Lowe. Don's brand of Americana music explores life with songs that are in turns witty, arcane, sad, and sometimes, downright silly. Since 2010, he has been the open mic host for the venerable Towne Crier Café now located in Beacon, NY and he hosts a radio show, “LOCAL HEROES: Independent Music of the Greater Hudson Valley and Beyond…” for WPWL, Pawling Public Radio that features local independent musical artists. His third CD is set for release in October, 2017.
